Re-imagining Dom Pérignon’s shield label in hammered metal, the musician and designer creates a uniquely contemporary vibe. Kravitz invites people to come together through his designs. Celebrating the 2008’s minimalism and expressive warmth in its glimmering patina, his limited-edition bottle is one for collectors and creative spirits to share.
An ultra-limited edition of the Dom Pérignon Vintage 2008 magnum is also available. Its structure is a monolith of patinated brass, covered with snake-like leather, lined with dark green velvet. The case bears witness to the artist's mid-century influences.
HARMONY ACHIEVED Dom Pérignon is vintage champagne only. Each vintage is a creation, singular and unique, that expresses both the character of the year, and the character of Dom Pérignon. After at least eight years of elaboration in the cellars, the wine embodies the perfect balance of Dom Pérignon, the Plénitude of harmony.
ROBERT PARKER 96+ / 100
Dom Pérignon is Vintage only. Each Vintage wine is created from the best grapes grown in one single year. To reinvent itself by interpreting the unique character of the seasons. To dare to declare the Vintage only when the harvest meets its ideal. Such is the commitment of Dom Pérignon.
Dom Pierre Pérignon took up his duty as cellarer at the Abbey of Hautvillers in 1668. For 47 years he continued to invent: improving the grapes’ quality with new viticulture techniques, blending different crus and grapes varieties to obtain the finest wines, gentle and fractional pressing to obtain white wines from black grapes, all those innovations became the fundamental rules of the “method champenoise”.
A luminous gold. Dom Pérignon vintages set their own release dates, and the 2008 required more patience than Vintage 2009, which reached its first plénitude earlier – an unprecedented event in the maison’s history. Wonderfully complex, with scents of white flowers, citrus and stone fruit enhanced by the freshness of aniseed and crushed mint. Finally, spicy, woody and roasted notes emerge. Perfectly balanced with the nose, the palate is streamlined and pure, with an underlying warmth. Clear, pronounced fruit and a well-integrated acidity, lead to an aromatic and smoky finish.
Experiment with the duality of mineral notes and fresh fruit, in a dish which pairs langoustine with papaya or octopus carpaccio with a citrussy dressing.
